Views of Sheikh Mohammed bin Idrees Al-Hilli in Medical Sciences and Prophetic Therapy

Abstract

Islamic civilization in its greatness, advancement and
highness has reached the whole world. People sought refuge
in it for centuries feeling safe and peaceful. It was replete
with treasures of sciences in various types and kinds at the
hands of the holders of these treasures, i. e., Prophet of Mercy
Muhammad (Pbuh&h) and Imam Ali bin Abi Talib (Pbuh) and their
descendants (Pbut). Jurist scholars(jurisprudents and qualified
scholars) seized these treasures quickly so as to make them
illuminating for all people. In this respect, Sheikh Muhammad
bin Idrees Al-Hilli came into sight. In this paper, we try to
familiarize ourselves with his views in medical sciences and
Prophetic therapy, which is the reason behind the choice this
topic.
The researcher has taken Al-Hilli's book (Medicine and Therapy by Using Benevolence and Philanthropy), which is found in the
Encyclopedia of Ibn Idrees Al-Hilli, Volume 12. Additionally,
I will snatch away some information from the folds of the
books of jurisprudence written by Islamic scholars including
books containing Prophetic traditions in this respect. I shall
reinforce that by citing different Arabic references, which
range between medical, historical biographies, philosophical
and medical glossaries, and so forth which have enriched the
content of the book.
