Ash-Shareef Dhia’ud-Deen Muhammad ibn Al-Ja’fariyah Al-Ha’iri Al-Hilli and his Role in the Imami Tradition

Abstract

Muhammad ibn Muhammad ibn Al-Ja’fariyah was one of the scholars who had had good activity in the field of Tradition in Al-Hilla. He was a great narrator of Traditions. But the passage of time has oncealed his life and works to the extent that his importance in Tradition was about to be neglected. In this paper, we have attempted to etail his life and mention his teachers and his students as well as his ole in recounting Tradition. We try also to refer to his single work which is entitled (The Forty Traditions) and comparing its different editions, together with correcting them. We have come across a manuscript of the work which contains more than what has already been published.
